Job Description

Project Information: Troubleshooting, diagnostics, and general support the development and deployment team at GEHC as well as acting as a liaison with the end customer of GEHC to for new issues and support.

Detailed JD:  

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in software development using Java/J2EE technologies, Spring, Hibernate, JPA, web services.
  • Knowledge of design patterns and best practices in design and development.
  • Experience with relational databases like oracle, sql server
  • Creative Problem solver.
  • Excellent Analytical and Problem solving skills
  • Work collaboratively as part of a self-organizing scrum team with minimal supervision
  • Participate in verification and testing efforts as needed.
  • Excellent communication and Interpersonal skills.
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Barrington, IL
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.
  • Must be 18 years or older.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience with standards like HL7 desired.
  • Agile/Scrum experience preferred.
  • Work with an agile team of 5-6 members through the agile development cycle
  • Attention to detail and ability to think clearly with intent to solve problems

Role Description: As a junior developer and support engineer, this role would be primarily customer facing. The support engineer will be responsible for handling tier 2 help desk tasks that involve responding to customer issues and troubleshooting before forwarding to the next tier of support. In addition, this role would have the opportunity to learn application development and be mentored by senior developers and architects.

Responsibilities:          

  • Work on Help Desk tickets that come in via phone or email
  • Monitor and manage system alerts and notifications and respond accordingly through service tickets
  • Basic troubleshooting via log scan, problem simulation, documenting steps to reproduce problems
  • Improve customer service through fast turnaround of requests as per SLA
  • Working with triage desk to escalate problem as needed
