Junior DevOps Engineer - Remote (EST Hours)
Location: Fully Remote (Must Work EST Hours)
Employment Type: Contract

About the Role
Join Apex Systems as a Junior DevOps Engineer and play a pivotal role in modernizing enterprise cloud infrastructure. In this fully remote position, you'll drive a major Kubernetes ingress migration from NGINX to Traefik, deliver robust CI/CD pipelines, and support mission-critical applications used by thousands. If you thrive on solving complex challenges and want hands-on cloud experience, this is your opportunity to grow with a leading IT solutions provider.
Responsibilities
- Assess and document the current NGINX Ingress Controller environment
- Design and implement Traefik-based ingress architecture
- Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitHub Pipelines, and Azure DevOps
- Deploy, administer, and troubleshoot applications in AKS, GKE, Kubernetes, and Docker environments
- Support and troubleshoot Informatica PowerCenter/IICS jobs, workflows, and production incidents
- Perform incident management, root cause analysis, problem management, and performance tuning across DevOps and middleware platforms
- Communicate technical updates, recommendations, and solutions directly to clients
Required Skills and Experience
- 3+ years DevOps experience in CI/CD pipelines, cloud operations, and production support
- Hands-on expertise with GitHub Actions, GitHub Pipelines, and Azure DevOps deployments
- Proficient with AKS, GKE, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud networking
- Proven experience supporting Informatica PowerCenter/IICS in production
- Demonstrated ability in incident resolution, RCA, and critical system stabilization
- Excellent client-facing communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Experience with cloud automation and configuration management
