Junior DevOps Engineer
Location: Fully Remote-Must Work EST Hours
Employment Type: Contract

About the Role
Apex Systems is looking for a seasoned Junior DevOps Engineer to support a migration of the organization's Kubernetes ingress layer from NGINX Ingress Controller to Traefik. This includes assessing the current NGINX environment, designing the Traefik architecture, building migration plans and more.
Key Responsibilities
  • Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitHub Pipelines, and Azure DevOps.
  • Deploy, administer, and troubleshoot applications running on AKS, GKE, Kubernetes, and Docker.
  • Support and troubleshoot Informatica PowerCenter/IICS jobs, workflows, integrations, and production incidents.
  • Perform incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), problem management, and performance tuning across DevOps and middleware environments.
  • Communicate directly with clients, providing clear updates, technical guidance, and issue resolution.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, cloud operations, and production support.
  • Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions, GitHub Pipelines, and Azure DevOps deployments.
  • Strong expertise with AKS, GKE, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud networking components.
  • Experience supporting Informatica PowerCenter/IICS in production environments.
  • Proven ability to lead major incidents, drive RCA, and stabilize critical systems.
  • Strong client-facing communication skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Experience with cloud automation and configuration management.
