Job description

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end PagerDuty platform configuration, including services, escalation policies, on-call schedules, event rules, notification profiles, and integrations.
  • Design and implement urgency and routing models aligned with business criticality and incident severity.
  • Configure time-based routing to prevent non-critical alerts from triggering unnecessary out-of-hours pages.
  • Implement intelligent alert grouping and event orchestration for high-volume services.
  • Drive enterprise-wide alert noise reduction across integrated monitoring sources.
  • Define and maintain event rules for suppression, deduplication, priority downgrades, and routing.
  • Implement flap detection and alert consolidation for repetitive CI/service alerts.
  • Configure maintenance-window integrations for automated alert suppression during planned changes.
  • Maintain transparency, reporting, and governance for suppressed alert classes.
  • Design and manage on-call schedules, including follow-the-sun coverage and rotation policies.
  • Audit and optimize alert routing to ensure accurate first-responder assignment.
  • Build and maintain an incident runbook library with linked diagnostics and remediation actions.
  • Manage integrations with upstream monitoring tools, including APM, infrastructure monitoring, cloud platforms, schedulers, and webhooks.
  • Collaborate with monitoring SMEs, including Dynatrace and SevOne teams, to ensure end-to-end alert pipeline alignment.
  • Manage PagerDuty–ServiceNow integration, including incident creation, updates, synchronization, and lifecycle management.
  • Troubleshoot event ingestion, routing, notification, and integration issues.
  • Continuously improve incident response processes, alert quality, and operational reliability.
Required Technical Skills
  • Strong hands-on experience with PagerDuty administration and configuration
  • Expertise in Services, Escalation Policies, On-Call Schedules, Event Rules, Notification Profiles, and Integrations
  • Strong experience with event orchestration, alert grouping, suppression, deduplication, and prioritization
  • Experience designing urgency and alert-routing models based on business criticality
  • Experience with ServiceNow and enterprise monitoring integrations
  • Knowledge of monitoring platforms such as Dynatrace, SevOne, APM, infrastructure, cloud, and scheduler tools
  • Strong understanding of webhooks, APIs, event pipelines, and incident lifecycle management
  • Strong troubleshooting and alert-noise reduction skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise PagerDuty environments.
  • Experience with PagerDuty APIs, webhooks, and automation.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL incident management and enterprise operations.
