They help automate processes, manage deployment pipelines, and monitor systems to ensure reliability and efficiency. Their responsibilities typically include writing scripts, managing cloud infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with development and operations teams to improve workflows. As juniors, they work under the guidance of senior DevOps engineers and are often learning new tools and practices on the job.

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Engineering organization and help build, automate, and scale the cloud platform powering our healthcare technology solutions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges, improving developer productivity, and driving cloud modernization initiatives.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you'll work closely with Software Engineering, Product, Security, and Operations teams to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable cloud infrastructure. You'll lead infrastructure-as-code initiatives, optimize CI/CD pipelines, improve platform reliability, mentor fellow engineers, and help shape our long-term cloud strategy.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who is passionate about automation, continuous improvement, technical leadership, and building platforms that enable engineering teams to move faster with confidence.

What You'll Do

  • Architect and optimize CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment speed, reliability, and consistency.
  • Partner with software engineers to streamline application deployments and operational workflows.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the reliability, availability, and performance of production systems.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and operational tasks.
  • Implement and maintain cloud security best practices, governance, and compliance controls.
  • Support disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity initiatives.
  • Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and recommend improvements to the engineering platform.
  • Contribute to cloud architecture decisions, including future cloud modernization and migration initiatives.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level DevOps engineers by providing technical guidance, code reviews, and coaching on infrastructure, automation, cloud engineering, and operational excellence.
  • Promote engineering best practices through documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as a technical leader, helping establish standards, improve engineering processes, and influence platform direction.

  • Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar languages.
  • Experience working with Git-based source control and automated deployment workflows.
  • Experience monitoring cloud applications and infrastructure using observability platforms.
  • Strong understanding of networking, identity management, cloud security, and infrastructure architecture.
  • Experience troubleshooting production environments and improving operational reliability.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers, leading technical initiatives, and influencing engineering best practices without direct management authority.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Azure infrastructure and cloud services.
  • Experience designing or participating in cloud migration initiatives.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration technologies.
  • Experience administering Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
  • Experience working in regulated industries such as healthcare or financial services.
  • Familiarity with cost optimization and cloud governance practices.

Nice to Have

  • Ability to read, troubleshoot, and make small changes to C# and TypeScript applications.
  • Experience supporting platform engineering or internal developer platforms.
  • Microsoft Azure, AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, or related cloud certifications.

What Success Looks Like

In this role, you'll help create a highly automated, secure, and scalable cloud platform that enables engineering teams to deliver software faster and more reliably.
