Summary of Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Chief Technology Officer, Deputy Chief Technology Officers and Senior Information Technology Project Manager, the Information Technology Project Manager is responsible for assisting with supervising the IT development staff throughout all phases of project management and development, from the planning and design stages through testing and implementation. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to monitoring the technical project's progress to ensure that IT development staff are meeting deadlines, establishing standards, and addressing security levels identified for each application. The IT Project Manager shall help ensure that the proper testing and training environments are in place for each project as well as certify and accredit the environment where the application will reside. The IT Project Manager shall also analyze users' needs, recommend software upgrades for end-users' existing programs and systems, create flowcharts, review the models that instruct programmers and programmer analysts as they write software code, and ensure that all documentation is completed for technical and end user manuals. Additionally, the IT Project Manager is responsible for helping coordinate the workflow between the development staff, office automation coordinators, and the Network Administrator/Supervisor when new projects are initiated and implemented or existing applications are upgraded.
Qualifications
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in computer science with a concentration in database administration or computer programming, along with three years of progressively responsible management experience, or 5-7 years of experience in a comparable position or environment. Attendance and the ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with other employees and the general public are essential functions of this position.
