Job Description
We are seeking a Performance Automation Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain internal software tools used to measure, analyze, and improve the performance of NetApp's ONTAP™ storage operating system. In this role you will also work to connect Performance Engineering with AI by leveraging GenAI and related technologies to modernize existing automation tools and processes.
What You'll Do
• Develop and maintain automation frameworks used for system performance measurement and validation
• Implement features and enhancements through the full software lifecycle: design, coding, testing, and support
• Diagnose and resolve issues in existing automation tools and workflows
• Leverage Generative AI technologies to improve performance debugging, log analysis, and data interpretation
• Build and maintain clear, user friendly dashboards for performance metrics
• Collaborate with performance engineers and senior developers to deliver reliable, scalable solutions
• Communicate status, risks, and technical findings clearly to team members and stakeholders
Required Qualifications
• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and software design
• 5+ years of Python experience, building maintainable large applications using frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask
• Experience developing automation frameworks or test infrastructure for performance measurement
• Hands on experience with REST APIs development and service based architectures
• Exposure to Generative AI / LLM integrations (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI APIs)
• Practical experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines; Kubernetes experience is a plus
• Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases; interest in vector databases is a plus
• Solid object oriented programming skills (beyond scripting)

Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is $180,000-$205,000. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. The range is based on 'On Target Earnings' (OTE) representing the total potential earnings, which is the sum of the base salary and potential commission earned when performance targets are achieved. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off, various Leave options, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU's). These offerings are subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
