Overview

Are you ready to join a growing team?

CTG is seeking an experienced Database Administrator IV to support enterprise database platforms with a primary focus on MongoDB administration in Microsoft Azure. This senior-level role is ideal for a database expert with deep experience in database architecture, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and cloud database administration. You'll collaborate with development teams utilizing Java, Spring Boot, and microservices while driving automation, operational excellence, and enterprise database strategy.

Design, optimize, and secure enterprise MongoDB platforms in Azure while partnering with application teams to deliver highly available, cloud-native database solutions.

Location: Buffalo, NY

Duration: 12 months

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer, maintain, and optimize MongoDB databases hosted in Microsoft Azure.
  • Design highly available, scalable, and secure MongoDB architectures using Atlas, Replica Sets, and Sharding.
  • Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, capacity planning, and resource management.
  • Manage database upgrades, migrations, patching, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production database issues while maintaining enterprise availability.
  • Partner with Java and Spring Boot development teams to support microservices and REST API integrations.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, database deployment automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives.
  • Recommend database architecture improvements, operational standards, and emerging technologies.
  • Lead enterprise database enhancement projects and mentor junior database administrators.
  • Ensure compliance with security, audit, regulatory, and business continuity requirements.
Required Skills
  • 8+ years of Database Administration experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on MongoDB Administration experience.
  • Expertise with:
    • MongoDB Atlas
    • Replica Sets
    • Sharding
    • Performance Tuning
    • Query Optimization
    • Backup & Recovery
    • High Availability & Disaster Recovery
    • Capacity Planning
    • Security, Authentication & Authorization
  • Experience managing MongoDB in Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise database architecture and production support.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Java and Spring Boot
  • REST APIs and Microservices
  • Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Git
  • Docker and Kubernetes
  • Shell, Python, or other scripting languages
  • Experience in financial services or other regulated industries
  • Infrastructure-as-Code and cloud automation
  • CAPPM experience

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $51.67 to $86.11/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
