Junior Clerk

A financial institution in New York is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Clerk to join its Operations Group. This role is ideal for candidates looking to build a career in banking and financial operations while gaining hands-on experience with settlement processing, reconciliations, reporting, and data management.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily system opening and closing procedures.
  • Initiate and monitor automated data entry processes.
  • Execute manual data entry with a high level of accuracy.
  • Monitor intraday cash credits and debits and communicate updates to relevant teams.
  • Perform daily reconciliations for custody accounts.
  • Execute end-of-day operational activities.
  • Process and review sanctions screening alerts.
  • Prepare data files for system imports.
  • Prepare coding tickets for static data maintenance, including system holiday table updates.
  • Support monthly and quarterly settlement operations.
  • Prepare and distribute daily and monthly reports.
  • Assist with other operational and administrative tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
