Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Fine Arts, Communications, Graphic Design, or related field (experience may be substituted for education)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in an ad agency or fast-paced communications environment
• Experience writing client reports, proposals, or strategic documents
Work Experience:
The Junior Creative must have a strong working knowledge of business branding and imaging theories and practices. Excellent graphic design and proofing skills are essential (minimum 2 years of professional design experience in print and web are required). This position works in a high-energy office that balances multiple creative projects taking place at one time that impact FirstDay Foundation operations worldwide.
Position Summary:
The Junior Creative plays an important role in advancing FirstDay Foundation's mission and the missions of our clients (affiliate non-profit organizations). Visionary and forward-thinking staff members interact daily with their Portfolio accounts to support impactful strategic communications. The Junior Creative supports the development and execution of visual communications that strengthen and elevate the FirstDay Foundation brand and the brands of its affiliate organizations. This role requires a strong working knowledge of branding principles, visual identity standards, and design best practices, along with exceptional graphic design and proofreading skills. The Junior Creative collaborates with team members to produce compelling, accurate, and on-brand creative materials that advance the FirstDay Foundation's mission and outreach efforts.
Essential Functions and Measurable Deliverables:
• Collaboration with MBC team members to contribute to strategic planning efforts for clients, fostering client engagement and feedback across accounts within the assigned Portfolio team
• Assist in conceptualizing and designing materials (print and web) that support public affairs, marketing, and fundraising efforts for FirstDay Foundation affiliates
• Assist in designing and developing reports, forms and other graphic documents for diverse audiences
• Assist in designing collateral for FirstDay Foundation's affiliates
• Assist in maintaining brand consistency throughout all marketing projects
• Assist in designing, building, and distributing e-blasts, social media, brochures, etc. internally and externally
• Assist in designing and updating websites as needed
• Assist in developing graphics to support social media efforts
• Work closely with vendors to coordinate the production and distribution of materials
• Assist with in-house printing, production, and assembly processes
• Perform additional duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities Required:
• Strong positive, customer-centered interpersonal, communication skills.
• Excellent project management and multitasking abilities.
• Creative and strategic thinking.
• Understanding of current advertising trends and platforms.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Fireworks)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Publisher, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience in web design, html and content management systems (experience with Wordpress and/or NetCommunity a plus)
• Attend all staff and agency meetings as requested
• Comply with all policies/procedures of the agency
• Travel and/or in-field production, as needed
• May have occasional evening or weekend assignments
Other Responsibilities:
• Provide communications support for events, as appropriate
• Serve as photographer and/or videographer, as needed, for assigned Portfolio
