JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Healthcare Copywriter reports to the Director, Member Engagement & Communications and is responsible for developing and managing corporate communications and member-facing content that educate and inform individuals about their health benefits. A key focus of this position is creating clear, culturally relevant, and accessible content that simplifies complex insurance concepts for individuals who may be new to health benefits. The ideal candidate is an expert communicator, a skilled copywriter, and fluent in both English and Spanish, with experience crafting messaging that resonates with different audiences.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) and four (4) to six (6) years of work experience in copywriting, content marketing, or corporate communications for healthcare or employee benefits, preferred
Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written) is required; experience in bilingual copywriting preferred.
• Strong copywriting skills with experience crafting compelling marketing copy.
• Professional portfolio showcasing compelling copywriting and marketing work capabilities
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent oral communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to simplify complex topics into engaging, easy-to-understand content.
• Strong understanding of health literacy, best practices, and experience writing for diverse
populations. Experience with content strategy, messaging development, and brand storytelling.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and content management systems (CMS); familiarity with marketing automation, preferred.

• Write, edit, and proofread high-quality content for corporate communications and member education materials in both English and Spanish.
• Develop member-facing materials such as welcome guides, FAQs, newsletters, website content, email campaigns, social media posts, and printed brochures to explain health benefits.
• Create engaging, culturally appropriate messaging that considers literacy levels, language nuances, and member needs.
• Translate complex insurance concepts into simple, easy-to-understand language that empowers members to utilize their benefits.
• Ensure all communications adhere to brand voice, tone, and style guidelines while maintaining accuracy and clarity.
• Collaborate with designers, developers, and marketing colleagues to create compelling visual and written content.
Bilingual & Cultural Communication
• Develop Spanish-language content that is not just a direct translation but is culturally relevant and audience-appropriate.
• Work closely with member-facing teams to understand key concerns and barriers for Spanish[1]speaking populations.
• Ensure that health literacy best practices are applied to all communications, making insurance concepts more accessible and actionable.
• Support education campaigns that increase member awareness and utilization of health benefits.
• Assist with the development of strategic marketing campaigns that support member retention and engagement efforts.

Corporate & Internal Communications
• Support corporate messaging and executive communications, including internal announcements, leadership updates, press releases, and presentations.
• Partner with Sales, Account Management, Customer Service, and other departments to develop effective internal and external communications.
• Manage and refine crisis communication strategies to ensure timely and transparent messaging.
• Work with legal and compliance teams to review materials for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
