Job description

We are seeking an experienced Survey Project Manager to join our growing surveying team. This is an office based position responsible for preparing high quality survey deliverables, supporting licensed surveyors, and collaborating with field crews on a variety of commercial, residential, municipal, and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate has at least 4 years of survey drafting experience, is licensed or actively working toward professional licensure, and is proficient with industry standard CAD software.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, subdivision, route, easement, and construction surveys.
  • Draft plats, legal descriptions, right of way exhibits, and record drawings using Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
  • Process and organize field data collected from GPS, total stations, UAVs, and laser scanning.
  • Assist with survey calculations, boundary analysis, deed research, and title review.
  • Coordinate with field crews to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate project deliverables.
  • Maintain drafting standards and perform quality control reviews of survey documents.
  • Support project managers with scheduling, document preparation, and client deliverables.
  • Work closely with engineers and designers to support land development and infrastructure projects.
  • Assist with mentoring junior CAD technicians and implementing drafting best practices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of survey CAD drafting experience.
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS/RPLS) license or actively pursuing licensure required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
  • Strong understanding of boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, subdivision, easement, and construction surveys.
  • Experience preparing plats, legal descriptions, and survey exhibits.
  • Knowledge of coordinate systems, survey calculations, and field-to-finish workflows.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a collaborative office environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Trimble Business Center, Carlson Survey, MicroStation, or similar survey software.
  • Familiarity with GIS, drone mapping, laser scanning, or point cloud processing.
  • Experience supporting land development, transportation, or municipal engineering projects.
