Envision is seeking a motivated, career, and customer-oriented Junior Systems Engineer to join our team at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside engineering and configuration management professionals supporting the lifecycle management, documentation, and configuration control of complex weapon systems and engineering data.

As a member of our team, you will play a key role in maintaining engineering documentation, managing system configurations, supporting technical data management activities, and helping ensure the integrity of baseline configurations throughout the product lifecycle

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create and maintain programmatic and technical documentation to support effective planning and execution.
  • Manage and document system configurations and oversee transitions into production environments.
  • Review, examine, upload, and configure technical drawings and engineering change orders to ensure continuity and accuracy of data line items.
  • Analyze legacy and new engineering data to ensure proper configuration management and storage.
  • Review technical drawing packages, including primarily 2D drawings and occasionally 3D CAD models, for completeness and compliance with technical data package requirements.
  • Add or update distribution statements and other required standards within technical drawing packages.
  • Upload, configure, link, and organize engineering data within the Product Data Management (PDM) system, including Windchill.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies between technical data and PDM system records, including configuration and container structure issues.
  • Assist in developing guidebooks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process documentation.
  • Recommend process improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate reviews with Weapon System Engineering teams to validate production configurations and establish finalized baseline configurations.
  • REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience in systems engineering, configuration management, engineering documentation, or a related technical field.
  • Knowledge of Configuration Management (CM) processes and change control procedures.
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting technical drawings and engineering documentation.
  • Understanding of engineering change requirements and configuration control practices.
  • Working knowledge of technical documentation, including: o Engineering drawings
  • Specifications o Standards

  • DESIRED SKILLS
  • Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) tools such as: oWindchill
  • Teamcenter oKonfig
  • Similar engineering data management systems
