Job description

SCOPE: The Junior Mechanical Build Technician is responsible for assisting with the assembly of HMS transfer units while learning our mechanical build processes. This role works closely with experienced technicians to assemble equipment, verify parts, maintain an organized work area, and ensure products meet quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in industrial manufacturing and mechanical assembly.

EDUCATION: · High school diploma required. · Technical certificate or Associate degree in Mechanical Technology, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred · 0-2 years of mechanical assembly, manufacturing, or technician experience · Basic understanding of mechanical systems and components

EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS: · Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and assembly instructions · Experience using hand tools, power tools, and torque tools · Knowledge of measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges · Basic troubleshooting and mechanical problem solving · Familiarity with manufacturing and assembly processes · Ability to follow standard operating procedures and work instructions Preferred Qualifications · Experience with CAD drawings and engineering documentation · Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, or electromechanical systems · Experience working in production


JOB FUNCTIONS:

· Assist with positioning tables and setting up work areas for the assembly of HMS transfer units.

· Learn to review Bills of Materials (BOMs) and verify that all required mechanical and commercial components are available before assembly begins.

· Notify the supervisor or lead technician of any missing or incorrect parts and reach out to supervisor to retrieve machined parts from inventory and verify they are ready for assembly.

· Assist with preparing parts for painting and communicate with the paint department regarding masking requirements and paint specifications.

· Transport painted parts to the assembly area and assist with mechanical assembly.

· Assemble mechanical components using assembly drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.

· Install grease lines, air lines, and other mechanical components under the guidance of experienced team members.

· Perform basic quality inspections and dimensional checks to ensure assemblies meet specifications.

· Assist during equipment testing and support software technicians as needed during machine run-off.

· Help organize the shop, prepare equipment for shipment, and secure components to shipping pallets.

· Assist with assembling installation kits, including fasteners, air lines, and other required components.

· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

· Perform other related duties as assigned.

· Assist in reviewing assembly orders to identify material shortages and open allocations.
