About the Role

Based in Chicago in The Loop, the Junior AWS & IT Engineer is responsible for supporting our US-based staff and our AWS Production environments.  You will be working with our Head of IT & Engineering to assist with SOC operations, implement AWS solutions to support projects, coordinate with our Development Team on risk mitigation and more.


The ideal candidate

Essential:

  • Academic background in Computer Science, IT, or a related STEM field
  • Basic understanding of computer networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
  • Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office 365
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong willingness to learn new technologies

Desirable:

  • Basic understanding of Windows Server and Active Directory
  • Basic knowledge of Linux
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Intune
  • Basic understanding of cloud concepts (AWS or Azure)
  • Exposure to scripting (PowerShell or Python)
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles (MFA, least privilege, endpoint security)
