Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop embedded electronic hardware, including mixed-signal PCB designs for control, sensing, and power electronics applications.
  • Architect and implement advanced control systems including field-oriented control (FOC), PID control, feedback loops, and real-time sensor integration.
  • Design motor drive electronics, power stages, gate drive circuitry, and current/position sensing systems for BLDC, PMSM, and related motor technologies.
  • Develop, simulate, debug, and optimize FPGA-based designs using Verilog.
  • Collaborate with firmware, FPGA, software, mechanical, and systems engineers to develop integrated product solutions.
  • Perform system-level bring-up, testing, debugging, validation, and optimization of embedded hardware and control systems.
  • Develop and validate control algorithms through analysis, simulation, and hardware testing.
  • Support embedded communication interfaces including I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, and other industry-standard protocols.
  • Produce technical documentation including requirements, schematics, design reviews, test plans, verification reports, and engineering analyses.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable safety, EMC, regulatory, and quality requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Support products through verification, validation, and transition into manufacturing.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of seven (7)+ years of professional experience in embedded electrical engineering.
  • Strong experience designing PCB-based embedded systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise developing motor control systems utilizing Field-Oriented Control (FOC).
  • Experience developing FPGA designs using Verilog.
  • Proficiency in Embedded C/C++ programming.
  • Experience integrating hardware, firmware, and FPGA solutions at the system level.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Power electronics
    • Signal integrity
    • Grounding techniques
    • EMI/EMC design considerations
  • Familiarity with RTOS concepts and real-time embedded systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with robotics, automation, electromechanical systems, or motion control applications.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink for control modeling and algorithm development.
  • Experience with wireless communication technologies such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
  • Knowledge of functional safety standards (IEC 61508 or similar).
  • Experience supporting products through manufacturing transition and production scaling.
  • Prior experience working within a consulting or product development environment.
