Junior BI Dashboard Developer

Location: McLean, VA - Onsite

Opportunity

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Junior BI Dashboard Developer to join a high-impact data transformation initiative within a leading financial services environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys turning complex datasets into clear, actionable insights and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced setting.

You’ll play a key role in modernizing dashboard ecosystems by refactoring existing assets and building new, scalable visualizations powered by a next-generation data platform. If you’re passionate about data storytelling and eager to grow your expertise in BI tools and data architecture, this is your moment.

You’re naturally curious, analytical, and driven by impact. You don’t just build dashboards; you think about the “why” behind the data and how it helps businesses make smarter decisions. You’re comfortable working with different types of data and enjoy collaborating with engineers and analysts to bring data to life.

Responsibilities
  • Refactor and rebuild existing dashboards to align with updated data models and platform architecture
  • Develop new dashboards using Tableau and MicroStrategy across structured and unstructured data sources
  • Design intuitive, user-centric visualizations that support business decision-making
  • Validate and reconcile dashboard data against source systems to ensure accuracy
  • Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to source, transform, and integrate data
Core Skills
  • Hands‑on experience with Tableau (dashboard design, calculated fields, parameters, LOD expressions, data blending)
  • Hands‑on experience with MicroStrategy (report development, schema objects, metrics, attributes, intelligent cubes)
  • Experience working with structured and unstructured data sources
  • Understanding of data modeling concepts and their impact on performance and usability
  • Ability to work onsite in McLean, VA five days per week
Nice‑to‑Haves
  • Experience integrating dashboards with modern data platforms (e.g., cloud data lakes or warehouses)
  • Exposure to data transformation or migration initiatives
  • Familiarity with financial services data or analytical use cases
