Job description

Club SciKidz NOVA offers science and technology summer day camps for children ages 4-15 in Arlington, Chantilly, and Vienna. We are hiring Counselors for our Chantilly location.

Our day camps run Monday-Friday, and staff are scheduled by the week. Staff hours are approximately 8am-4pm. Pay for Counselors is $560 per week.

Camp Locations:

St. Veronica Catholic School: 3460-B Centreville Rd, Chantilly, VA 20151

Weeks of June 22-26, July 6-10; July 13-17, July 20-24; July 27-31

Who are we looking for:

Teachers

College students who have completed at least their first year of college. We love STEM majors and Education majors, but all majors are welcome and encouraged to apply.

High school Graduating Seniors who have passion for and experience working in basic science and/or technology fields.

We are looking for folks who:

Enjoy working with children

Have some experience working with and leading a group of children

Want to help campers have a great summer as they learn science & technology

Are reliable & hard working; have reliable transportation

Having [some] experience with technology is a plus, but NOT a requirement

Can attend mandatory, paid training in first week of June. Exact date TBA

Daily responsibilities include:

Supervising campers

Implementing provided lessons (all lessons, materials & supplies are provided)

Keeping kids engaged, while maintaining a safe environment

Have fun with what you are doing

Being on time every day for your required shifts (you are scheduled by the week, so

you work a whole week (Monday-Friday) for the weeks you are scheduled

Working with other staff to provide an excellent camp experience
