Job description

As a lifeguard, you will play a key role in keeping our pool both safe and enjoyable throughout the summer season (May-September). You'll actively supervise swimmers, help maintain a clean and welcoming pool environment, and ensure that all safety and Farmington Country Club policies are followed. Our goal is for members and guests to relax, swim, and have fun with confidence.
Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate safety-first practices by maintaining proper vigilance both on and off the stand through surveillance of member activities, pool conditions, and potential safety hazards.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all emergency action plans and demonstrate the ability to respond effectively during emergency situations.
  • Maintain attention on current duties, whether active scanning, cleaning in and around the pool deck, or assisting with member relations.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of designated storage areas, office space, and the pool deck.
  • Represent Farmington Country Club in a professional capacity both in and out of the water by adhering to all club policies and procedures.
  • Attend and assist in required staff meetings, training sessions, and events.
  • Communicate and engage with members and guests in a professional, positive, and service-oriented manner, upholding FCC's commitment to a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Daily Duties:
  • Actively supervise swimming activities in and around the water.
  • Greet and check-in members and guests, creating a friendly environment.
  • Maintain cleanliness of pool facilities, including routine cleaning (vacuuming, skimming, and brushing).
  • Perform basic water chemistry and equipment checks
  • Ensure all rescue equipment is present, accessible, and ready for use at all times.
  • Provide basic first aid assistance when needed for minor injuries.
  • Monitor and restock first aid supplies as needed.
  • Complete required opening and closing checklists accurately to support safe daily operations.
  • Assist with all scheduled pool activities.

Additional Requirements:
  • Must be at least fifteen (15) years of age.
  • Flexible scheduling availability, including mornings, evenings, and major holidays throughout the summer season; time off requests will be considered with advance notice.
  • Must be able to always pass and perform all lifeguard rescue skills successfully.
  • Strong professional communication and organizational skills, with an emphasis on attention to detail.
  • Ability to commit to assisting with home swim meets when necessary.
  • Ability to work varied shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Scheduling flexibility through August and early September is preferred.

Certifications:
