Maintenance - Summer Help
Deerfield Community School is looking for summer custodial help.
Start date: July 1, 2026 through August.
Summer help will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Facilities to maintain school buildings and grounds in orderly, neat, safe and operable condition.
Essential Job Functions





  • Perform tasks to keep our school buildingย orderly, neat, and clean performing dutiesย such as clearing &ย disposing of trash,ย dusting furniture and fixtures,ย and related tasks.
  • Checks and secures building at beginning and end of shift for the purpose of ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the building.
  • Cleans rooms, hallways, cafeterias, restrooms, offices, stairways, and other areas of building according to school district standards.
  • Move furniture, equipment, and boxes for cleaning purposes.
  • Sweep, mop, buff, strip, and waxย floors.
  • Cleanย rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and blinds.
  • Washย walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors, and sills.
  • Cleans glass areas.

Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


  • Ability to follow oral or written work orders from supervisor, and to coordinate work with others.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagrammatic form.
  • Ability to report work to supervisor as required.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships withย staff and others contacted in the course of work.
