Work you'll do

As a Software Engineer II on the GPS Engineering as a Service team, you will be responsible for delivering Appian-based business process solutions that support mission objectives.

  • Support configuration, development, and defect resolution for an Appian replatforming effort replacing legacy capabilities. 
  • Assist with building Appian components, refining user stories, completing unit testing, troubleshooting issues, and supporting releases and sprint delivery. 
  • Collaborate with leads, analysts, testers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into build tasks and ensure the application continues to evolve in line with business priorities. 
  • Participate in Agile delivery activities, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and release support
  • Apply Appian development standards, reusable components, and performance practices to support maintainability and technical quality

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Active Public Trust security clearance
  • 3+ years of experience of enterprise application testing/quality assurance
  • 3+ years of experience of functional, regression, integration, and UAT testing
  • 3+ years of experience of defect tracking, triage, and retesting
  • Ability to travel 0-25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Preferred:

  • Appian platform familiarity
  • 1+ year of Appian testing experience
  • Experience testing enterprise workflow or low-code applications
  • Familiarity with test tools such as Jira, Xray, qTest, or Azure DevOps
  • Experience with GPS or federal application environments
  • ISTQB or similar certification preferred

This compensation range is specific to Virginia and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $102,500 to $170,900.
