Job Summary:
Red Arch Solutions is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Linux System Administrator to join their IT infrastructure team in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing enterprise Linux environments and supporting storage, backup, security, and patching systems.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Administer, maintain, and optimize Linux-based systems in a production environment
โ€ข Manage and support IBM Enterprise Storage solutions, ensuring high availability and performance
โ€ข Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Veritas NetBackup for enterprise backup and recovery operations
โ€ข Perform system patching and package management using YUM repositories
โ€ข Execute and remediate vulnerability scans using Nessus, ensuring compliance with security standards
โ€ข Support and maintain STE/STIN processes and environments (as applicable to organizational standards)
โ€ข Implement and maintain system security configurations, including NSF frameworks/policies
โ€ข Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive improvements
โ€ข Collaborate with cross-functional teams for infrastructure upgrades, audits, and incident response
โ€ข Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and compliance requirements
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
โ€ข 3+ years of hands-on Linux system administration experience (RHEL, CentOS, or similar)
