Title: Data Analyst

Location: Bldg. 140, Pearl Harbor, HI 96860

Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM-3:00 PM

Salary: $83,000-$100,000 annually

KMRG, LLC (KMRG) is a federal services company that hires talented professionals to support Government agencies and the communities they serve. We are hiring a Data Analyst to support the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY&IMF) Occupational Safety and Health Office.

In this role, you will analyze Occupational Safety and Health data to identify trends, emerging risks, reporting gaps, and data-quality issues. You will develop dashboards, charts, written summaries, and leadership briefings that support safety decisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES Safety Data Validation & Analysis
  • Verify data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency before conducting analysis
  • Identify missing, inconsistent, or unusual data and coordinate resolution of discrepancies
  • Analyze OSH data from RMI, SharePoint, local logs, and other databases
  • Identify trends in injuries, hazards, near-misses, reporting behavior, and safety performance
  • Identify leading indicators and emerging risks within Occupational Safety and Health data
  • Compare data across departments, time periods, and other groups to support benchmarking
  • Identify gaps in reporting, hazard recognition, or data quality
Dashboards, Reporting & Leadership Support
  • Develop dashboards, charts, written summaries, and analytical narratives
  • Translate complex data into clear, decision-ready information
  • Prepare structured briefings for program managers and senior leaders
  • Highlight trends, emerging risks, data limitations, and recommended actions
  • Prepare monthly trend analyses and historical performance comparisons
  • Present monthly In Progress Reviews and provide Personnel Support Reports
Process Improvement & Data Quality
  • Identify inefficiencies in data collection, reporting, analysis, and workflows
  • Recommend improvements to reporting systems, metrics, and data processes
  • Maintain documentation of analytical methods, processes, and guides
  • Troubleshoot data-entry problems using existing instructions and guidance
  • Escalate complex data discrepancies or system anomalies to appropriate Government personnel
  • Support unplanned or emergent data-processing requirements as needed
Communication & Customer Support
  • Communicate analytical findings clearly in visual, verbal, and written formats
  • Coordinate with appropriate contacts to resolve data-quality issues
  • Provide responsive customer service and analytical support
  • Organize and maintain physical and digital files related to assigned work
REQUIRED BACKGROUND
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and pivot tables
  • Experience interpreting large datasets and communicating findings clearly
  • Experience with statistical analysis, trend analysis, or performance-data evaluation
  • Ability to translate analytical findings into practical recommendations
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Problem-solving, concentration/memory, and prioritization skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to type at least 35 words per minute
PREFERRED BACKGROUND
  • Power BI experience
  • Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health data
  • Experience analyzing injury and illness data, hazard-reporting trends, or safety-performance metrics
  • Bachelor's degree in a field such as occupational health
SECURITY / ACCESS
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and required Shipyard access badge
  • Must meet required background and clearance requirements before starting work
  • Must follow requirements for handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)
  • Must follow PHNSY&IMF security and access rules
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to sit or stand at a computer workstation for most of the workday
  • Ability to speak clearly, hear, stand, reach, bend, crouch, push, pull, and perform frequent repetitive motions
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 15 pounds as required
