ABOUT O'KEEFE MEDIA GROUP

A celebrated American journalist and media innovator, James O'Keefe and his team are renowned for impactful reporting that has inspired legislative reforms, led to official congressional inquiries, and exposed corruption at some of the nation's most powerful institutions.

The OMG mission is to empower and equip a movement of citizen journalists to expose wrongdoing, corruption, and government overreach, supported by an in-house team of experienced journalists, producers, and editors dedicated to bringing factual stories to light.

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking motivated, resourceful, and mission-driven Undercover Journalists to help identify, investigate, and document stories of public interest.

This is a part-time, contract-based opportunity designed for individuals who are passionate about uncovering the truth and willing to pursue stories in their local communities and beyond. Undercover Journalists work closely with our investigative team to develop leads, gather information, and participate in investigative projects.

This is not a traditional 9-to-5 position. Work is project-based and compensation is provided on a per-story basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identify potential stories, leads, and sources within your community or area of expertise
  • Conduct research and preliminary fact-finding on investigative leads
  • Participate in undercover investigations and field reporting assignments
  • Capture video, audio, documentation, and supporting evidence when appropriate
  • Communicate regularly with the OMG investigative team regarding story development
  • Travel as needed to pursue story opportunities
  • Maintain detailed records, notes, and supporting materials throughout investigations
  • Operate professionally, ethically, and lawfully while conducting investigations
AVAILABILITY / TRAVEL
  • Travel is required and may vary depending on the assignment
  • Candidates should be comfortable working independently in the field
  • Work schedules are flexible and largely determined by the needs of active investigations
  • Some assignments may require evenings, weekends, or short-notice travel

  • Must be deeply passionate about OMG's mission
  • Strong curiosity and investigative instincts

COMPENSATION
  • Compensation is paid on a per-story basis
  • Travel expenses associated with approved assignments will be covered or reimbursed by OMG
  • This is a contract-based opportunity and is not eligible for traditional employee benefits
  • Exceptional performers may have opportunities for increased assignments and long-term involvement with the organization
