About the Role:

The Carrier Placement Manager oversees the placement of Commercial Property & Casualty business and provides strategic guidance to Commercial Marketing, Service, and Sales teams. This role ensures alignment between carrier capabilities and client needs. The Carrier Placement Manager also maintains strong relationships with our carrier partners, driving placement strategies that support agency growth. Success in this position will include close collaboration with Sales and Service leadership to equip staff with the knowledge and tools needed to place business effectively. Strong operational execution, in-depth market knowledge, effective leadership, and a collaborative approach are essential to achieving success in this role!

How You will be Compensated:

What you will Do:

  • Leadership
    • Lead, coach and develop the Marketing team while fostering accountability, collaboration, and development
    • Optimize team performance by analyzing workflows, allocate resources, and leverage technology
    • Design and enhance marketing strategy and processes for both new business and renewals
    • Champion a culture of service excellence
  • Client Coverage Placement
    • Shape and execute placement strategy, including new business and renewal submissions, negotiations, and binding
    • Provide technical leadership: guiding coverage analysis, pricing strategies, and market positioning to align client needs with carrier solutions
  • Carrier Relationships
    • Align carrier strategy with agency growth objectives
    • Serve as a key relationship leader with carrier partners while identifying and onboarding new strategic carrier partners
    • Manage carrier agreements and partnerships, ensuring compliance, performance, and alignment with agency goals
    • Drive profitability by monitoring and maximizing profit share opportunities in partnership with P&C leadership
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Practice Leaders to develop targeted growth initiatives, industry programs, and go-to-market strategies
    • Partner with Operations Manager to construct training and development programs that support the onboarding, growth, and development of the team
    • Support the Operations Manager, Sales Enablement Manager, and Risk Advisor Mentors in the development of newly hired Commercial Risk Advisors

Qualifications

  • 7+ years’ experience as a license California Property & Casualty Agent
  • 5+ years’ experience in Commercial Lines Carrier Placement/Marketing/Quoting
  • 2+ years’ experience in a supervisory role managing team’s work-flow and service expectations in a commercial insurance environment
  • In-depth understanding of the Independent Insurance Agency system
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with Applied Epic
  • Reliable transportation with current auto insurance is necessary for occasional client and carrier meetings, continuing education, and/or professional development courses

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Team of Marketing Analysts report directly to this role
