Seasonal Lifeguard

Beach Club Santa Monica 850 Palisades Beach Road Santa Monica, CA 90403, USA

Description

The Lifeguard is responsible for the following:

  • Keep a professional commanding presence through rushes of recreational swimmers and long lulls.
  • Being courteous, while maintaining a clear line of communication with members and team.
  • Keep the pool facility and recreational swimmers safe
  • Help members to understand the rules prior to entering the water
  • Respond to emergencies per Red Cross Lifeguard training.
  • Checking members are booked and swimming in the correct lane, with proper swim attire, and rinsed of all debris before entering.
  • Execute end of shift duties such as cleaning tile, squeegeeing the deck, vacuuming the pool, brushing of plaster walls.

Requirements:

  • Possess current Red Cross lifeguard certification.
  • Possess strong communication skills.
  • The ability to work in a loud indoor environment, which can flux from slow to busy.
  • The ability to respond to an emergency in a quick, calm and effective manner.
  • Possess a teamwork attitude willing to jump in and assist when things are needed.
  • Possess strong self-starter skills, which are solution driven.
  • Must be available for weekend shifts, in-service trainings, and holidays through Memorial Day. After Memorial Day, additional weekday availability will open up through to Labor Day
