Registered Nurse-Infection Control/Employee Health
Location: Sparks, Nevada- Northern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services- Dini Townsend Hospital
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
Salary: Highly Competitive - $50.00 per hour

Qualifications:
  • RN Licensed in the State of Nevada
  • Experience in Employee Health and Infection Control
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented with strong computer skills

The Infection Control (IC) Nurse leads infection prevention and control activities for a secure, inpatient psychiatric hospital setting. This role designs and implements surveillance, outbreak response, staff education, policy development, and compliance monitoring aligned with CDC, CMS, The Joint Commission, and Nevada state regulations. The IC Nurse partners with clinical leaders, environmental services, facilities, and state/local public health to reduce healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
The infection control portion of this position reviews current practice recommendations, infection control alerts, Nevada state technical bulletins, WHO/CDC, regulations, Northern Nevada Public Health announcements, and accrediting agency requirements related to infection control regularly and ensures hospital compliance with infection control requirements. It prevents, mitigates, and responds to infectious outbreaks in the hospital in coordination with leadership response. This facility does not perform surgery or require processing of equipment related to invasive procedures. The employee health portion of this position screens employees, completes N95 fit testing upon hire and annually, provides applicable vaccinations and TB testing, and maintains employee health records for the facility.
