Qualifications
Required Skills:
  • One year of reception experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Insurance verification experience preferred.
  • Prior authorization experience preferred.
  • OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact by greeting patients, visitors, and vendors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and direct callers appropriately.
  • Provide hospital telecommunications services utilizing telephones, paging systems, radios, and other communication tools.
  • Facilitate patient flow from referral through admission in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
  • Obtain and verify demographic and financial information to ensure accurate patient registration and billing.
  • Verify insurance benefits and eligibility as needed.
  • Assist with obtaining and tracking prior authorizations when applicable.
  • Validate and enter charges into appropriate systems.
  • Maintain records related to hospital telecommunications, on-call schedules, paging, and other communication activities.
  • Adapt to changing priorities while maintaining effective communication and exceptional customer service.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and comply with all hospital policies and HIPAA regulations.
  • Support the hospital's mission, values, and Guiding Principles through daily interactions with patients, families, visitors, and coworkers.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned to support hospital operations.

Responsibilities
Position Summary
The Fridays & Sundays Part-Time Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients, families, visitors, referral sources, and hospital staff. This position plays a vital role in creating a welcoming environment while supporting the admissions process, telecommunications, insurance verification, and other administrative functions to ensure excellent patient service.
Integrates the hospital's mission and "Guiding Principles" into daily practice.
Posted Total Compensation
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, education and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It's not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $20.00 to $23.90.
