Lewis Johs Avallone Aviles, LLP is seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorneys to join our legal team in multiple practice areas. We are looking for candidates who are capable of independently handling a full case load. Ideal candidates should have strong analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

GENERAL LIABILITY LITIGATION ASSOCIATE

The duties and responsibilities of the GL Associate position include, but are not limited to –

· Managing a full caseload

· Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies

· Conducting and defending depositions

· Meeting and working with clients

· Meeting with experts

· Drafting and/or reviewing pleadings, motions and discovery

MEDICAL MALPRACTICE LITIGATION ASSOCIATE

The duties and responsibilities of the Medical Malpractice Litigation Associate position include, but are not limited to –

· Managing a full caseload

· Conducting and defending depositions of all parties and non-parties

· Meeting and working with client facilities and employees

· Producing clients for deposition

· Reviewing medical records

· Meeting with experts

· Drafting and/or reviewing pleadings, motions and other discovery items

LABOR AND EMPLOYMENT LITIGATION ASSOCIATE

The duties and responsibilities of the Labor and Employment Law Associate position include, but are not limited to –

· Experience in handling employment cases, including wrongful termination, discrimination, wage and hour matters, arbitrations and collective bargaining negotiations

· Researching and advising on labor and employment related statutes and associated litigation

· Ability to create company policies and employee handbooks

· Managing a caseload and assisting to cover the calendar

· Conducting and defending depositions of parties and non-parties

· Meeting and working with client facilities and employees

· Producing clients for deposition

· Strong writing and analytical skills

· Drafting and/or reviewing pleadings, motions and other discovery items

· Experience in all aspects of litigation, trial experience a plus

CONSTRUCTION ACCIDENT LITIGATION ASSOCIATE

Successful candidate will have experience handling construction accident cases, including scaffolding accidents, safety rule violations/non-compliance, bystander’s rights and wrongful death. Knowledge of New York State Labor Law Section(s) 200, 240 (1) and 241 (6) and associated litigation is required. Other duties and responsibility of the construction accident attorney position include, but are not limited to –

· Managing a full caseload

· Conducting and defending depositions

· Producing clients for deposition

· Analyzing medical records

· Meeting with experts

· Attending inspections

· Drafting and/or reviewing pleadings, motions and discovery

TRUST & ESTATES ASSOCIATE

The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in Surrogate’s Court practice, including contested trust and estate proceedings, will construction, fiduciary removal and other litigation related to estate administration. Proven experience in trusts & estates, with a preferred focus in litigation. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to -

· Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery demands and responses

· Take and defend depositions

· Conduct thorough legal research

· Appear in court for various proceedings

· Maintain meticulous records of case files, correspondence, court filings and administrative documentation in the law office management system

Qualified candidates must have strong communication and writing skills, solid law school and professional experience, as well as analytical and interpersonal skills. Must be a member of New York State Bar in good standing.
