Position Overview:
We're looking for a hands-on Maintenance Technician to bridge the gap between general facility upkeep and full industrial equipment repair. This role is responsible for keeping packaging and material handling equipment running-including boxing automation lines, plastic wrap machines, conveyor systems, and basic production support equipment used in rug pad manufacturing.
You'll perform scheduled preventive maintenance, respond to breakdowns, and troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues. This role also supports general facility maintenance when needed, including building repairs and grounds upkeep. This is a great fit for someone with solid mechanical aptitude who is ready to grow into more advanced industrial and automation work.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on boxing lines, shrink wrap machines, plastic wrap machines, conveyor systems, and palletizers
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues including belts, bearings, chains, sprockets, rollers, and hydraulic & pneumatic systems
  • Diagnose and repair basic electrical issues (motors, contactors, switches, sensors, photo eyes)
  • Respond to production line breakdowns and restore equipment to operation quickly
  • Perform basic welding and fabrication for equipment repairs as needed
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, parts diagrams, and basic schematics
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and work order records
  • Support facility systems including HVAC, compressed air, and dust collection as needed
  • Coordinate with operations staff to schedule maintenance during planned downtime
  • Support general facility and grounds maintenance tasks as needed, including building repairs, painting, and seasonal upkeep
  • Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications & Skills (Required):
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with hands-on repair ability
  • Basic electrical knowledge (120V-480V, motor controls, safety circuits)
  • Basic plumbing knowledge
  • Ability to read equipment manuals and basic wiring diagrams
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic instruments
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced production and e-commerce fulfillment environment
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in various physical positions
  • Willingness to learn CMMS system

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in maintenance, mechanical repair, or a related trade
  • Trade school certificate or equivalent technical training preferred

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience maintaining packaging or material handling equipment

  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain
