Job description

The JOHN REED Assistant Club Manager ensures efficient and effective operations of our JOHN REED club. This position provides management and leadership for our membership, fitness, and operations teams to deliver a unique and cohesive experience. This role will report to and receive guidance from the Club Manager.
• Create, form, and cultivate a JOHN REED community and a welcoming and unique club atmosphere at each location.
• Oversee all operations, including membership acquisition.
• Oversee recruiting, hiring, training of a high-performing club team. Lead with example and maintain a positive team spirit.
• Monitor member satisfaction and ensure a consistently evolving world class member experience, echoing the JOHN REED brand values.
• Manage all members facing events, including communications with our marketing team.
• Facilitate, execute, and monitor company-wide initiatives, from club member engagement events to team member building activities.
• Maintain a strong business acumen, including a thorough understanding of the competitive landscape and community around your club.
• Engage and participate in your local community while ensuring operational efficiency.
• Serve as the brand ambassador, sharing your passion and enthusiasm for fitness and JOHN REED.
• Contribute to the overall talent strategy of your location, including brand promotion, strategic planning, social media strategy, and content creation across the different channels connecting your club to the community.
• Support the District Manager as a strategic team player within the leadership team.
• Any other tasks and/or duties as assigned by Club Manager or District Manager.
• Minimum of 3 years of management in a fitness, hospitality, or retail environment, including experience in revenue generation, client satisfaction, recruiting/onboarding, people management, and development.
• Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) preferred.
• Must hold a current nationally recognized Personal Training Certificate and/or a Group Fitness Certification.
• Ability to proficiently use POS and CRM systems, timekeeping, and any other computer programs required to meet business needs of the club.
• Prior experience in inspecting and adhering to safety sanitation guidelines.
• Must be able to work flexible schedule to include days, nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.
• Natural leader that is organized and structured, coupled with a warm and friendly nature.
• Must be able to lift upward of 50lbs.
• Must be able to move or assist in the movement of heavy equipment or machinery.
• Must be able to climb and descend stairs multiple times a day.
• Passion for fitness.
Compensation: $72,000 - 75,000 annual salary
