Job description

Job Description:Based on John Muir Health Nursing's Vision of being the innovative leader for the professional role of the registered nurse. Through evidence-based practices and relevant patient care models, the nursing culture will create a compassionate healing environment, ensure interdisciplinary collaboration and foster professional growth and satisfaction. The staff registered nurse (RN) is a licensed professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for planning, delegating, and coordinating the nursing care of a group of patients during a designated time frame utilizing the John Muir Medical Center Standards of Care, ANA's Standards of Practice and Professional Performance, and the California Nurse Practice Act, Title 22, and Title 16. The RN coordinates and provides care through the therapeutic use of self, nursing process, and the environment and technology, in partnership and collaboration with interdisciplinary team members.

Education:

  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing Required

Experience:

  • 6 Months Nursing - Acute Care Preferred

  • 2000 hours Nursing - Cardiac Catheterization Must be Obtained within last 2 years - Core Requirement

  • 2000 hours Cath Lab Doing no Fewer than 30 case per Month and Full Spectrum of Interventional Procedures Must be Obtained within last 2 years - Core Requirement

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
For additional Specialty area Core and non core positions: 
 
For CVI Prep/Recovery Positions- Core
Core:
  • Minimum 1000 hours experience as an RN in a cath lab/angiography PPR

  • Demonstrate competency in the care of the interventional patients pre and post procedure.

  • Must meet competency standard for assistance with minor procedures, i.e.; cardioversion, TEE, paracentesis, thoracentesis

  • Demonstrated competency in current anesthetic agent pharmacology, cardiac pharmacology, vasoactive therapy and ventilator set-up/management, malignant hyperthermia management and airway management.

  • Demonstrate competency in caring for hemodynamicly stable and unstable patients including acute MI

  • Must meet competency standards for preadmission process and procedure and standardized discharge.

Work Shift:08.0 Per Diem No Waive (United States of America)

Pay Range:

$81.09 - $110.48Hourly
Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.
Pay will be adjusted to the local market if hired outside of the Bay Area.

Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word ‘exempt’ on it.
