Position Detail: 

Frye Regional Medical Center, 53m from Charlotte NC, is seeking a BE/BC Cardiovascular or Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join a hospital-employed practice with two existing CV Surgeons. 

  • The Frye Heart Center is an integrated Cardiology service line that consists of Interventional, Structural Heart, EP and Cardiologists
  • Experience preferred but not required
  • Call is 1:3
  • Full scope of adult cardiothoracic and cardiovascular procedures
  • Preferred Fellowship in transcatheter valve and complex aortic surgery
  • Duke Heart Network affiliate; the first in western North Carolina. Backed by the resources of the Duke Heart Center, FRMC has access to the most current Duke training and staff education, evidence-based guidelines and practices when it comes to heart and heart-related issues
  • Position is available to both Cardiothoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons, in the essence of true program growth

 

Cardiovascular Procedures:

  • Advanced techniques in coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)
    • Endoscopic vein harvest
    • Multi-arterial grafting
  • Arrhythmia surgery
  • Endovascular surgery
  • Thoracic aortic surgery
    • Aortic aneurysm repair
    • Thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR)
    • Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
  • Valvular repair / replacement

 

General Thoracic Procedures:

  • Advanced diagnostics and treatment of benign lung conditions and lung cancer
    • Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS)
    • Lobectomy
    • Mediastinoscopy
    • Navigational bronchoscopy
    • Wedge resections
  • Management of pericardial fluid collections
  • Management of pneumothorax and pleural fluid collections
  • Minimally invasive video assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS)
  • Surgical treatment for complications of emphysema
  • Surgical treatment of diseases of the mediastinum
  • Thoracic trauma management

Open Heart and Minimally Invasive Valvular Procedures:

  • Aortic valve replacement
    • Aortic insufficiency
    • Aortic stenosis
  • Combined valvular repair / replacement
  • Mitral valve repair / replacement
    • Mitral regurgitation
    • Mitral stenosis
    • Rheumatic disease
  • Surgical closure of septal defects
  • Tricuspid valve repair
