Job Tree information

What are job tree positions?

A Job Tree is a visual representation or hierarchical structure that outlines various job positions within an organization or industry and how they relate to one another. It helps illustrate career progression, reporting relationships, and possible promotion paths. Job Trees are commonly used by HR departments to assist employees in understanding advancement opportunities and organizational structure. They are also useful for workforce planning and talent management.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a tree surgeon (arborist), and why are they important?

To thrive as a Tree Surgeon (Arborist), you need a solid understanding of tree biology, pruning techniques, and safety protocols, typically supported by a relevant certification or qualification in arboriculture. Familiarity with chainsaws, climbing equipment, aerial lifts, and industry-standard safety systems is essential. Physical fitness, attention to detail, and strong communication skills help arborists work safely and effectively, often as part of a team or with clients. These skills are crucial for ensuring the health of trees, maintaining safety on the job, and delivering quality service to clients.

What are some typical challenges faced by arborists working on job tree projects, and how can they be addressed?

Arborists working on tree care and maintenance projects often face challenges such as working at heights, handling hazardous equipment, and dealing with unpredictable weather conditions. Safety is a top priority, so following strict protocols and using proper personal protective equipment is essential. Additionally, arborists must communicate clearly with team members and property owners to ensure the health of the trees and minimize risks to people and property. Continuous education and training help arborists stay updated on the latest best practices and technologies in the field.

Company Description

Mission statement

“Transforming the trees of our community one branch at a time”

Company Vision

“To see the people we serve learn to love and cultivate healthy trees for the benefit of our community”

We are a tree service company that strives to be the best service in our industry. To achieve this we answer our business phone when called, show up for estimates, do the job on the day we say with a spirit of excellence, finish on time with our customers home and yard put back in order.
We are professional in our customer service and treat our customers, as well as each other with respect.
We care about the health and safety of trees as they beautify our homes and communities. If we don’t know something we will find the answers, or direct them to someone who knows. We never stop learning and are all committed to a continuous growing in knowledge of trees and the work we do for them. We are not just a group of employees; we are all part of an unstoppable team.

Who we are / core values

We Communicate - A simple text back or thumbs up as soon as you hear from us. We have a lot of schedule changes always happening and especially for Malissa it makes a huge difference in our planning for jobs. We let our customers know if we are going to be more than a few minutes late.
We Show up on time - on the occasion, which should be rare, that you are going to be late, be sure to text ahead of time.
We focus on safety. We Text/call during breaks (leaders respond to business calls and texts when safe to cut away)tree work is considered one of the top 5 most dangerous jobs. We need to be using 100% of our senses when on the job to work safely. Anyone at anytime can bring up something they see that may not be safe .
\We work hard - we hustle to get the work done with using sharp saws and sharp minds to do our jobs effectively. Never rushing..but steady flow. Jobs are scheduled for time slots to work and account for us all using wise work ethic principles. Though it is not common , some days go long and we committed to finishing them.
We work efficiently - we are moving weight across distance. Therefore We understand that efficiency makes the day go faster and the work less difficult from week to week. From trucks to climbing bags , tools are put back where they were stored, other tools go back to the saw shed, clutter is unacceptable, clutter leads to waste and more importantly to compromised safety
We Think - while other tree companies may give a blank stare when asked a technical questions , we give answers if we know, or let them know we’ll look in to it and find out.
We learn and educate- every day is a new day to learn our trade better and to teach it to the community we serve
We have Grace - we make mistakes, customers make mistakes. No question aimed at doing our job better is a dumb question. We all learn and move on, that’s how we get better at what we do.
We do not gossip/disrespect Gossip is considered the cancer of a company. Anyone who is gossiping would immediately expect to be written up. If it occurred again that they would be grounds for dismissal. This is because we are dedicated to being a united team. Unity is built through respect for others; despite our differences. It is actually through the unified combination of our individual strengths that we become something much greater.
We have fun - we enjoy what we do. We get to work outside, use our strength and minds and get dirty! We are an amazing team of individuals that together are greater than the sum of our parts.
