Job Summary
As part of the Pricing and Margin Management team, the Senior Analyst has responsibility for delivering optimized margin outcomes in accordance with customer growth and financial goals, analyzing and developing improvements to business processes, and identifying and facilitating the creation of appropriate reporting.
Job Description
Key Accountabilities
Conduct economic, financial, competitive and pricing analysis
Support and enhance detailed pricing models that evaluate margins (inputs include product type, price points, churn, natural gas prices, geography, etc.); must be comfortable dealing with large quantities of data in Excel and be able to write & understand code in SQL/ Python
Proactively monitor and manage the margins of new and existing customers
Conduct ad hoc reporting and analysis to drive critical, time-sensitive business decisions and ensure performance is meeting company objectives
Assist in evaluating residential pricing strategy by gathering and evaluating competitive intelligence for both published and non-published sources
Develop and operate tableau dashboards related to price positioning and margin reporting
Proactively analyze markets and identify market segments where the company's position could be improved
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
Bachelor's degree in finance/economics or related field required. Professional experience gained may be applied toward this requirement.
4+ years significant professional experience in a quantitative business function and/or dynamic and analytical environment (pricing experience preferred, particularly in a B2C role)
Knowledge and experience with customer facing and project coordination/management methods preferred
Solid understanding of financial modeling and complex analyses
Technical capabilities in Excel, SQL, Python, and Tableau
Key Metrics
Basic understanding of Retail Services/Business Operations
Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to manage a diverse range of projects simultaneously
Strong oral and written communication skills, good presentation skills, and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work comfortably with all levels of employees
Skilled in using computer software applications such as Microsoft Office (required), SQL/Python (required), tableau (recommended)
Demonstration of the ability to adapt quickly to changing strategic situations, design recommendations that address the issues, and build cross-functional consensus to drive needed change
Ability to gain content knowledge quickly and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a rapidly changing environment
