Job Summary

Gateway is currently seeking an adjunct instructor to teach an in-person dual credit HIS 109, History of the US Since 1865 course for the Fall 2026 semester.
Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30-10:45am at the Urban Metro campus in Covington, KY from 8/17/26-12/13/26

Job Duties:

  • Provide instruction and familiarize students within the specific areas of study.
  • Provide instruction to students in both theory and practice in their respective field(s).
  • Keep abreast of changes in their field and help keep the programs updated.
  • Technical positions provide students with the background, knowledge, and basic skills needed to function effectively on the job.
  • Preferred candidates would be able to teach at various levels to help support their programs. Candidates should be energetic, enthusiastic, and have an in-depth understanding of the principles in their discipline or field.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree and at least 18 graduate hours in History from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Experience in and understanding of working with students from diverse populations is preferred.
  • Experience working at the community college level is preferred.

  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and, in writing.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under deadlines, and prioritize projects to meet deadlines with high levels of efficiency and accuracy.
  • Must have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and Word).
