Fleet Data Centers designs, builds and operates mega-scale data center campuses. Fleet is well positioned to bring in-house design, engineering and operational capabilities to collaborate with customers on tailored solutions for campuses of 500MW+. This unique model enables Fleet to provide the world's largest and most sophisticated customers a seamless extension of their own data center fleets with constant access to design innovation. Fleet is headquartered in Denver, Colorado, with satellite offices in Seattle, WA and Arlington, VA.
Position Overview
The Senior Data Center Construction Manager plays a critical role in the successful delivery of Fleet's large-scale, mission-critical data center projects. Reporting to the Director of Construction, this role leads all aspects of project execution - from concept and design coordination through commissioning and turnover - ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This leader collaborates across internal design, operations, and commissioning teams as well as with general contractors, trade partners, and consultants to deliver next-generation digital infrastructure that powers the world's largest cloud and AI platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
  • Manage all phases of data center construction, including preconstruction planning, execution, and closeout.
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, and quality objectives, ensuring alignment with program and company goals.
  • Own and lead the work of general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to achieve seamless project delivery.
  • Monitor construction progress and proactively identify and resolve schedule or scope conflicts.
  • Lead site-based project meetings, inspections, and commissioning activities.

Technical & Quality Oversight
  • Ensure proper installation and integration of mission-critical systems - electrical, mechanical, cooling, controls, fire protection, and security.
  • Verify compliance with Tier III/Tier IV design standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Hold accountable commissioning and operations teams to validate performance, reliability, and uptime readiness.
  • Drive quality control programs and enforce documentation standards through Procore or equivalent systems.

Budgeting & Contracts
  • Develop, track, and manage project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and cost reports.
  • Lead RFP processes, contract negotiations, and change order reviews with contractors and suppliers.
  • Review project scopes, drawings, and specifications to identify cost and schedule optimization opportunities.

Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams, owners' representatives, contractors, and consultants.
  • Provide regular progress updates and risk assessments to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement across project teams.

Risk, Safety, and Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to all environmental, health, and safety requirements on site.
  • Oversee risk mitigation strategies and contingency planning for schedule, design, or logistical challenges.
  • Drive sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives in design and construction execution.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in large-scale construction management, including at least 5 years managing mission-critical or data center projects.
  • 7+ years of experience reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and contracts
  • 5+ years of experience leading complex projects ($50M+), managing multiple contractors and timelines.
  • 5+ years of experience with MEP systems, power distribution, UPS/generator systems, and building automation.
  • 5+ years of experience with Procore, Microsoft Office Suite, and construction scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).

  • Self-starter with a high degree of initiative and attention to detail.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Expected Salary Range: $160,000 - $200,000 base + Discretionary Bonus
Travel: As this is an on-site position, there will be limited travel associated with the role.
