Perform application systems analysis, programming and maintenance using client/server and/or web-based technologies, database administration, and system administration. Manage extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes for clinical research from source healthcare systems into research databases for the Research, Education, Administration, and Development of Biomedical Informatics (READi) Core. Due to the responsibilities of this position, an Epic Clinical Data Model Certification is required.

Required Experience 3 years If any experience is required, please specify what kind of experience:
  • Programming experience of which includes SQL, C+ and/or Python with at least 2 years directly working with biomedical data or structured electronic health record (EHR) data including extracting data from EPIC Clarity database.
  • Familiarity with medical terminologies such as ICD-10, RxNorm, LOINC, and SNOMED CT.

Required Computer Applications: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint Required Other Computer Applications: EPIC, SQL Server, TSQL, HTML, C#, Python, IIS, Windows Development Platform, Windows Operation Systems, .NET and SAS Required Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Skilled in highly complex application systems analysis and programming.
  • Mathematical analysis skills to develop algorithms to implement system design requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in database project management.
  • Knowledge of working in an academic and/or healthcare setting.
Preferred Education: Master's degree If any degree/training is preferred, please specify the type:

Preferred Experience:
  • 5 years or more experience in bioinformatics and/or programming to include the development of databases and/or web applications, information modeling, and identification appropriate database resources for implementation.
  • Experience in extracting data from EPIC Clarity database and transforming them into PCORnet and OMOP common data models. Advanced SQL Server Database programming skills including intricate query optimization and superior performance tuning.
  • Experience in medical terminologies such as ICD-10, RxNorm, LOINC, and SNOMED CT.
  • Some experience in database project management.
