Human Resources Generalist

Position Summary:

Responsible for providing continuous and professional HR support to the business. This position includes activities related to functional areas such as onboarding, offboarding, benefit administration, payroll, HRIS, record management, employee relations, policy implementation and full cycle recruitment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Completing tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, and exit interviews, including data entry while verifying accuracy and compliance
  • Conduct manager training on HRIS system
  • Responsible for talent acquisition, focusing on attracting/sourcing high-quality candidates to fill open positions
  • Partner with HR management when conducting investigations and resolving team member issues.
  • Provide support and issue resolution to employees in various HR-related issues such as leaves of absence, compensation, benefits, programs, practices, procedures, etc.
  • Continuously strive to improve policies and procedures
  • Analyze and provide HR-related metrics when necessary
  • Ensure, through collaboration with hiring managers, development and/or compliance of job descriptions
  • Coach and advise employees regarding HR programs, practices and procedures
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned
  • Serve as backup to the HR Manager, supporting HR operations and assuming designated responsibilities as needed.
  • Act as Executive Assistant to General Manager when necessary:
    • Organize and schedule appointments
    • Coordinate/provide food & beverages for meetings
    • Submit and reconcile expense reports
    • Act as point of contact for internal/external clients
    • Order office supplies
    • Coordinate visits international travelers

  • Efficient HR administration and people management skills
  • Must possess strong follow-up skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Ability to identify and solve problems, work within deadlines with a high attention to detail, and work independently in a fast paced, dynamic environment

  • Must have broad, basic understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Advanced computer skills, especially in MS Office

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field from an accredited four-year college or university preferred; or a combination of education and relevant experience
  • HR Certification preferred
  • Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably Automotive Manufacturing) is required
  • Experience with current HR/Payroll system preferred (currently ADP Workforce Now)
