Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced JIB Manager to lead the Joint Interest Billing function for a growing energy organization. This role will oversee all aspects of JIB accounting, billing, revenue allocations, and owner relations while partnering closely with accounting, land, operations, and leadership teams. The ideal candidate will bring strong oil and gas accounting knowledge, leadership experience, and a track record of improving processes and maintaining billing accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all Joint Interest Billing (JIB) activities, including monthly billing cycles and ownership allocations.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop JIB accounting staff.
  • Review and approve partner billings, cash calls, and adjustment entries.
  • Ensure accurate interpretation and application of Joint Operating Agreements (JOAs).
  • Coordinate with Land, Operations, Revenue Accounting, and Finance teams to resolve billing and ownership issues.
  • Research and resolve owner inquiries, disputes, and audit requests.
  • Oversee preparation of account reconciliations and analysis of JIB-related balances.
  • Maintain compliance with industry standards, accounting policies, and internal controls.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve system efficiency.
  • Assist with acquisitions, divestitures, and special projects as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of Joint Interest Billing (JIB) accounting experience within the oil and gas industry.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Joint Operating Agreements (JOAs) and COPAS guidelines.
  • Experience with oil and gas accounting systems such as OGSYS, Enertia, Excalibur, Quorum, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Pay Details: $110,000.00 to $130,000.00 per year
