This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate and coordinated model development and drawing production to support fabrication and field installation activities. Pay Range: $40-$65 per hour (DOE), FLSA non-exempt (overtime eligible).

Here's a deeper dive into your responsibilities:

 

Modeling & Drawing Production

  • Create coordinated 3D BIM models of electrical systems using project-assigned software tools.
  • Produce detailed fabrication drawings including electrical spools, support details, spool maps, and assembly drawings.
  • Generate installation drawings, including layout and support installation drawings (isometric and orthographic).
  • Develop supplemental drawings such as sleeve/penetration drawings, pad layouts, and point files for field layout.

Coordination & Project Execution

  • Review and interpret plan drawings, one-line diagrams, specifications, and submittals.
  • Utilize Navisworks and other tools to identify and resolve clashes and routing conflicts. 
  • Provide input on constructability, value engineering, and field conflict resolution. 
  • Actively participate in the RFI process to resolve discrepancies and obtain missing information.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Generate reports including bills of material, quantity takeoffs, cut lists, weld lists, and system reports. 
  • Assist in the creation of work packages and maintain drawing/document control tracking. 
  • Produce accurate red-line as-built models and drawings for project closeout.

Field & Team Support

  • Perform site measurements and as-built modeling of existing conditions when required. 
  • Collaborate closely with project teams, fabrication shops, field crews, and clients. 
  • Maintain adherence to company standards for modeling, drawing output, and file management. 
  • Take ownership of project deadlines and deliverables.
What You Bring
  • Experience: Minimum three (3) years of electrical detailing experience. Previous experience with an electrical contractor preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in BIM and 3D modeling software including Revit MEP, Navisworks, and AutoCAD. Strong ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, plan drawings, and specifications.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional technical education or training is a plus.
  • Required Skills: 
    • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to safety and quality. 
    • Strong organization, communication, and time management skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
    • Strong collaboration skills across project teams, field personnel, and stakeholders.

Physical Requirements:

This role involves a combination of office-based and occasional field/site work. Responsibilities include sitting, standing, walking, and using hands for computer and technical tasks for extended periods. The role may require lifting up to 25 pounds and maintaining focus on detailed visual work. Clear communication and coordination with teams are essential. Reasonable accommodations are available.
