Job description

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Sales Floor Coordinator.  Responsible for retail sales.  Provides guest service and product information.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Greets guests cordially and professionally, within one (1) minute or less.
  2. Promotes sales of inventory, using promotional in-store sales, as well using special orders. Actively participates in monthly sales incentive programs.
  3. Works cooperatively with management and co-workers to develop a “Team” relationship to achieve desired business goals.
  4. Provides project and artist information and answer questions regarding arts and crafts, apparel, jewelry, pottery, tobacco, etc.
  5. Accurately handles all sales transactions through Point-of-Sale systems; cash handling, travelers check verification, credit card processing, Konami, shipping/handling, proper receipt retention, data entry verification, and obtaining ID as required.
  6. Directs patrons to proper office as appropriate to seek resolution of problems beyond the information and capabilities available to sales associate.
  7. Answer telephones politely, takes and records accurate messages and passes them to the appropriate person.
  8. Performs routine daily tasks:
  • Re-stocking and merchandising of inventory
  • Affix price labels as directed by Sales Floor Coordinator or Buyer.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Maintain and replace/re-stock supplies
  • Maintain clean cases, jewelry, and merchandise
  • Maintain brochure and informative materials
  1. Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo of Sandia.

   Education and Experience 

Required:

  1. High School Diploma, or GED Certification.
  2. Two (2) years retail experience.

Note:  Relevant work experience or education may be substituted to satisfy education and/or work experience. 

License/Certifications/Registrations

  1. Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation.
  2. Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening.
  3. Must obtain and maintain a New Mexico Alcohol Server’s License prior to hire date.
