Job Description ProspectBlue is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our client's growing team in Richmond, VA. This role will play a key part in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, credit analysis, and operational accounting support. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working with data, partnering with leadership, and contributing to process improvement in a fast-paced environment.

CPA preferred but not required. Experience in manufacturing or distribution environments strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain financial and operational reporting using Microsoft Business Central (ERP), Jet Reports, and/or SQL Server Prepare and analyze monthly financial results, including budget vs.

actual reporting and variance analysis Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process in partnership with leadership Review customer credit applications, perform credit analysis, and provide recommendations to management Maintain customer master data, including credit limits, payment terms, and remittance details Calculate and process monthly sales commissions in coordination with Sales leadership Support sales tax compliance, including filings, nexus tracking, and communication with state agencies Assist with business license filings and renewals across jurisdictions Support month-end close activities, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance Collaborate cross-functionally to support business operations and resolve accounting-related issues Assist with special projects and process improvements as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field CPA preferred, not required 2+ years of accounting experience (Staff Accountant or similar role) Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-based industries strongly preferred ERP experience required; Microsoft Business Central, Jet Reports, and/or SQL Server a plus Strong Excel skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment Strong communication and analytical skills What We're Looking For A stable, growth-oriented accounting professional Someone comfortable working with data and systems to drive insights A team player who enjoys partnering with leadership and cross-functional teams A long-term contributor who wants to grow within the organization
