Director of Licensing, Game Shows

The Director of Licensing, Game Shows is responsible for leading the strategic development, management, and expansion of consumer products, including slot machines, lottery, apparel, toys, home, and publishing -for iconic game show IP such asWheel of FortuneandJeopardy!This role oversees end-to-end licensing strategy, cultivates high-value licensee partnerships, drives brand integrity and innovation, and ensures the business meets or exceeds financial targets.

This is a high-impact, highly visible role that blends strategic planning, creative brand development, operational excellence, and exceptional partner management.

Key Responsibilities

Brand & IP Management

  • Steward the application ofWheel of Fortune,Jeopardy!, and other game show brands across a wide range of consumer products.
  • Ensure brand consistency, quality, and compliance across all licensed product executions.

Licensee Partnerships

  • Serve as the liaison between Sony and licensees, guiding partners through product development, planning, forecasting, and execution.
  • Leverage consumer insights and market data to strengthen franchise presence, drive category growth, and elevate consumer engagement.
  • Secure collaborations with brands that extend storytelling into new categories and new audiences

Product Development

  • Oversee the full product lifecycle from concept through production, ensuring high quality, brand alignment, and adherence to creative standards.
  • Champion innovation and trend-driven product opportunities within assigned categories.
  • Lead development for style guides across all game shows IP

Category Strategy & Business Development

  • Develop and implement category strategies for areas such as Home & Seasonal, Apparel, Games, and Gambling products.
  • Build roadmaps for brand collaborations, ensuring strategic alignment and maximizing brand visibility.
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate new business opportunities and partnerships to expand the licensing portfolio.

Financial Management

  • Drive revenue performance across categories through effective deal structures and partner management.
  • Ensure accurate financial forecasting, revenue tracking, and performance evaluation with licensee partners.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor a Senior Licensing Manager.
  • Set clear, challenging objectives and guide the team toward achieving strategic and operational goals.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, performance evaluation, and development to nurture future leaders.

Additional Role Expectations

  • Serve as a strongbrand championforWheel of Fortune,Jeopardy!, and the broader Game Shows portfolio-advocating for brand integrity, championing creative excellence, and inspiring cross-functional teams to bring the franchises to life in meaningful ways.
  • Partner closely with the Senior Vice President who oversees the Game Shows business to support program execution, stakeholder engagement, and long-term strategic planning.
  • Operate as both a strategist and a hands-on operator-able to navigate a complex, fast-paced environment while building scalable processes and managing multiple high-profile partnerships.
  • Demonstrate exceptional collaboration skills and ateam-first mindset, working effectively across all levels of the organization, from senior leadership to cross-functional partners and external stakeholders.
  • Bring a blend of strong client management, creative vision, strategic insight, and franchise development expertise to a highly visible, high-impact role.

Qualifications

  • 8-10+ years of experience in licensing, consumer products ideally with entertainment IP and adult consumers.
  • Proven track record of driving category growth, managing high-profile IP, and leading successful partner relationships.
  • Strong strategic thinking, negotiation skills, and financial acumen.
  • Experience managing and developing teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, cross-functional, and high-visibility environment.
The anticipated base salary for this position is $120,223 - $156,290. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
