What are jobs in Jenkins?

Jobs in Jenkins are automated tasks or workflows that perform specific actions, such as building, testing, or deploying software. They are configured within Jenkins to run on schedules or in response to events, often using scripts or plugins to streamline development processes.

What are some common challenges faced by Jenkins administrators when managing CI/CD pipelines, and how can they be addressed?

Jenkins Administrators often encounter challenges such as plugin compatibility issues, scalability concerns, and maintaining security best practices. Managing numerous plugins can lead to version conflicts or system instability, so it's important to regularly review and update plugins as well as test changes in a staging environment before deploying to production. Scaling Jenkins to support multiple teams or large workloads may require setting up distributed builds with agent nodes. Additionally, securing credentials and limiting user permissions are crucial to protect sensitive information and prevent unauthorized changes. Collaborating closely with development, QA, and operations teams helps ensure smooth pipeline execution and timely resolution of issues.
