Jeffstat Paramedic

The Jeffstat Paramedic is primarily responsible for providing care to patients during inter-facility and emergency transports following Jeffstat's predetermined treatment protocols. The Jeffstat Paramedic is an ambassador of Thomas Jefferson Hospital (TJH), as he or she is often the first Jefferson healthcare delivery team member with whom the patient and their family will have contact.

Experience - Required
  • Field paramedic experience, minimum 5000 hours, in a critical care transport program or 911 ALS ambulance service. The Critical Care Transport Paramedic shall be experienced and proficient in performing advanced life support skills such as intubation, IV insertion, medication administration EKG interpretation, and chest decompression. Current medical command in good standing with the Philadelphia EMS Office or another region in Pennsylvania, NJ or DE.

  • Intubation, IV insertion, medication administration, EKG interpretation, and chest decompression, Mechanical cardiac assist devices (IABP, ECMO, VAD, Impella), external ventricular devices (EVD), Invasive patient monitoring devices (Arterial line, SWAN Gantz, CVP)
