What is a JDE analyst?

JDE Analysts are professionals who specialize in managing, maintaining, and optimizing JD Edwards (JDE) Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems within an organization. They analyze business processes, configure the JDE software to meet organizational needs, troubleshoot issues, and provide end-user support. Additionally, JDE Analysts often collaborate with business stakeholders to design and implement system enhancements that improve efficiency and data integrity. Their expertise ensures that the JDE system runs smoothly and supports the company's operational goals.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a JDE analyst?

To thrive as a JDE Analyst, you need expertise in JD Edwards ERP systems, strong analytical abilities, and a background in information technology or business, often supported by a relevant degree. Familiarity with JD Edwards modules, SQL, and reporting tools, as well as certifications like Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, are commonly required. Outstanding problem-solving skills, effective communication, and adaptability help analysts understand user needs and work collaboratively across departments. These competencies are vital to ensure optimal ERP system performance, streamline business processes, and support organizational goals.

What are some common challenges faced by a JDE analyst when supporting system upgrades or implementations?

Ensuring data integrity and minimal disruption to daily operations is also a key concern. Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving help JDE Analysts navigate these challenges effectively.

Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide Tier 2 functional support, including root-cause analysis and issue resolution.

  • Troubleshoot complex functional issues in partnership with business and technical teams.

  • Continuously look for opportunities to simplify processes and improve how JD Edwards supports the organization.

What You'll Bring

  • Strong functional and configuration expertise within JD Edwards.

  • Deep expertise in at least two functional areas: Finance, Supply Chain, or Sales.

  • Proven experience gathering business requirements and translating them into functional ERP solutions.

  • Experience with solution design, system configuration, integrations, and data flows.

  • Experience supporting ERP implementations, upgrades, and major enhancements.

  • Understanding of change and release management within enterprise environments.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and develop practical solutions.

Nice to Have

  • Experience integrating AI services with JD Edwards or using AI-enabled tools to improve business or system processes.

  • Experience working across multiple business functions or within a complex, global organization.

Why This Role
