Job description

Founding Partner Steven Haney is an AV-rated lawyer, and he leads a well-respected litigation firm in downtown Los Angeles. Haney & Shah is a boutique law firm that frequently is in jury trials. We have a diverse client base and represent both plaintiffs and defendants, with a ratio of approximately 80% hourly to 20% contingency. Steven Haney has over 80 jury trials with a win rate of 80%. We are the type of firm that other firms hire to take their cases through trial. Part of our success is attributed to a strong reputation, which generates consistent referral business from professional colleagues and satisfied clients.
We have a diverse legal practice that ranges from employment litigation to intellectual property disputes (both enforcement and defense), business cases, white collar criminal defense, real property litigation, contract disputes, probate and conservatorship cases (on both sides), military law, and many other areas. We practice in both State and Federal Courts, including the Court of Claims, and participate in International and Domestic Arbitrations. We write and argue appeals, and we have 9 published opinions, in both State and Federal Courts. Haney & Shah may be a small firm, but we litigate against some of the biggest firms in downtown Los Angeles, and we win.
We pride ourselves on our team, who are a talented and cohesive group of hard-working and motivated employees. We offer medical, dental, and vision plans, paid sick time, and paid vacation time, plus paid parking. Our firm is busy, and we work in office. We will do our best to accommodate flexible work hours. Our office dress code is relaxed, as it is our goal to have a comfortable and positive work environment with positive energy. On Fridays we celebrate TGIF and order-in-lunch for everyone.
We seek an associate attorney with at least 5 to 10 years of experience, primarily in civil litigation. If you consider yourself to have a strong work ethic, write well, and are confident in appearing before the Court, conducting a deposition, and willing to participate in trials, this is the place for you. We particularly appreciate attorneys who can multitask and can take charge of a case in a leadership role. We have partnered with Chirag Shah, which allows us to handle both the litigation and the transactional aspects of being a law firm.
If you believe you are a good fit for our team, we would like to meet with you. You will not be disappointed. Please email your resume to shaney@haneyshah.com
I look forward to meeting you,
Steve Haney
