Overview

VTG is seeking an experienced and adaptable Senior Software Engineer to join our team in support of a mission-focused customer deploying cutting-edge systems.

The Senior Software Engineer will design, develop, test, integrate, and maintain scalable, highly available software solutions supporting mission-critical environments. This position requires extensive full-stack software engineering experience, with deep expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Java, and the Spring Framework.


What will you do?
  • Analyze user and mission requirements to derive software design, interface, and performance requirements.
  • Design, develop, modify, integrate, test, and maintain mission-critical software systems.
  • Develop scalable, highly available applications using modern software architecture and system design principles.
  • Design and develop full-stack software solutions using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Java, and the Spring Framework.
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and correct defects in existing software applications using languages such as Java, Python, Rust, C++, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and understand project limitations, system capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.
  • Design and modify software systems using engineering analysis and mathematical models to evaluate system performance, design outcomes, and potential impacts.
  • Develop and execute test procedures for software components.
  • Create and maintain Docker containers and support application deployments within Kubernetes environments.
  • Develop automation scripts to improve software development workflows, deployment processes, and operational efficiency.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to technical documentation, software development processes, and engineering standards.
  • Participate in code reviews, system integration, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Extensive experience designing, developing, testing, integrating, and maintaining enterprise software applications.
  • Experience analyzing complex user requirements and translating them into software design and performance requirements.
  • Experience designing scalable, highly available software systems.
  • Strong software debugging, troubleshooting, and defect resolution experience.
  • Experience working with modern software architecture and system design principles.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with software engineers, systems engineers, hardware engineers, and other technical stakeholders.
 
 

VTG’s estimated starting pay range is $210K-$250K annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
