3LS Quality Engineer
Description -
This role is responsible for crafting comprehensive engineering solutions by applying developed subject matter knowledge. The role involves enhancing concepts and designs through analytical and physical evaluations to boost efficiency and enhance quality. The role develops and executes parameters and test plans, validating engineering specifications, and addressing technical risks, while fostering collaboration with stakeholders. The role leads project teams and delivers well-documented reports, contributing to the realization of operational and strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
  • Designs engineering solutions, utilizing multiple engineering disciplines for products, systems, software, and solutions based on established engineering principles and development technology guidelines, while ensuring cost effectiveness and quality.
  • Ensures optimization of concepts and designs with analytical and physical assessments, to increase efficiency and improve quality.
  • Develops and implements parameters and test plans for new and existing designs; track and verify actions for validation of mechanical, electrical, software, and other engineering specifications and requirements.
  • Performs technical risk assessments of engineering solutions developed and ensures appropriate risk mitigation efforts are undertaken.
  • Solves difficult and complex problems with a fresh perspective, demonstrating good judgment in selecting creative solutions.
  • Develops recommendations on changes and design enhancements to improve reliability, security, processes, and performance.
  • Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
  • Leads a project team of other engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for moderately- complex products.
  • Represents the mechanical/thermal team for all phases of larger and more-complex development projects.
  • Delivers professionally written reports, and supports the realization of other operational and strategic plans.
  • Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members to set an example of engineering design innovation and excellence.

Education & Experience Recommended
  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
  • 4-7 years of work experience, preferably in engineering design, engineering design tools and software packages, or a related field or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.
