Job description


Position Description:
Participates in testing and automation activities using Jira, X-ray, Cucumber, and Selenium. Facilitates alignment with automation standards and supports overall DevOps integration. Supports and performs Continuous Integration (CI) testing in a DevOps environment, using industry standard tools and techniques (Jenkins and Git repositories). Designs and develops Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) using RestAssured, Postman, and SoapUI. Develops applications in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and cloud platforms (Oracle and Snowflake). Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Participates in architecture design teams.
  • Defines and implements application-level architecture.
  • Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.
  • Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.
  • Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.
  • Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.
  • Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.
  • Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.
  • Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.
  • Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.
  • Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.
  • Advises senior management on technical strategy.
  • Mentors junior team members.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) performing test automation using Java programming languages and version control systems in non-Production, Production, and financial services environments.
Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) performing test automation using Java programming languages and version control systems in non-Production, Production, and financial services environments.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") building and executing against test automation for front and back-end applications, service layers, and end-to-end programs -- Selenium -- using Java or JavaScript (for back-end) and Cucumber Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) framework (for front-end); and performing service level testing in Karate or RestAssured framework.
  • DE creating strategies and roadmaps for test automation and technical designs using Jenkins dashboards; and performing Cucumber reporting - documenting, communicating, and presenting design strategies to peers and senior leadership.
  • DE delivering and promoting automated test cases via Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools -- Jenkins Build Server, Maven, Git, and Stash; and organizing automation development tasks and testing activities using delivery tools -- Jira, Stash, and Confluence.
  • DE developing software in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP); developing automated test cases, using Oracle SQL, Java/JEE, and JavaScript; and performing test automation using Cucumber, Selenium, Maven, and RestAssured frameworks, integrated with CI/CD Jenkins tools.

Salary: $153,025.00 - $166,000.00/year.
